Does it really matter? As long as they work? Isn't the point to stop faster?Who cares what name is on them.

it will say brembo on the outer rim but dont use those
crossdrilled and slotted rotors can be very weak and will not help braking in ANY WAY. i dont care what anyone says they dont do jack **** except endanger your life if it decides to crack under heavy brakeing.

i hear a lot of down playing on cross\drilled rotors.....im my opion it would help cool the disk better then the flat face rotors....its made with holes for a rason...i understand that it may break or is weaker but it helps
if any of you guys ever do canyon carving, you'll understand..... brake fade is one of the scariest ****.....we normally do the corners up in the ihills and beleive me it would really help if your disk is ventilated....thats my 2 cent
btw, it should have a stamp on it if its real...

A solid rotor will cool better then any drilled or slotted rotor. If your brakes are fading you have the wrong pads. And ALL civic and intergra front rotors are VENTED from the factory.

I agree that slotted rotors and cross drilling is uneccesary. May look good but the only function is serves is wearing out your brake pads faster.

Go over to the autocross/road racding forum and see what their opinions are. By and larger you will see those guys go to autozone and buy bremo blanks. not cross drilled, not slotted. The reason on the cross drilled is that they tend to crack on the holes, leading to much bigger problems. Slotted was originally used in rally to clear away mud and snow. but for driving purposes the thing that is going to make the biggest difference is your pads. One that I have used consistantly and liked are the Axxis Ultimates. I think the guy at Cobalt (so a search) can give you great rates. That and changing your brake fluid.
Bottom line: crossdrilled and slotted look pretty, but in no way enhance your braking ability.

brake fade is usually caused by boiling fluid or pads overheating.
all honda disc brakes are ventilated STOCK
thats why there are 2 layers of the rotor with those vents in the middle.
go ask ANYBODY that races a honda, all they use are stock brembo blanks with GOOD pads and a fluid with a high boiling point.

just out of curiosity...but this is stupid...are there any blank rotors that dont oxidize? Its not that big of a deal but they really look like **** when they start to oxidize.

The reason you hear of rotors cracking with the drilled rotors is due to the severe overheating of the stock size rotors. The stock rotors are marginal at best for managing the heat in normal driving; they are very prone to overheating in any type of high speed events. When you remove material from the rotor you remove the mass needed to manage any higher temps. Slotting is the better of the two methods as is removes less material and can actually provide more 'bite' for the pads.
Larger rotors can handle the loss of material and still manage the heat buildup, although they can still crack if the temps get too high...

what about just using slotted rotors? wouldn't those be better than just plan ventilated rotors?
blank rotors are FINE.
