The ITR guys did a dyno test with different intakes and it made the most power i believe.

I got one....Mike at IPS told me it was a T1R, but with the cheap filter i got, and the lack of a nipple for the valve cover breather hose (was just a big hole) I really just think it was another of these cheapo knock offs. I painted it and am happy with it...just think i got taken for a bit too much money

And i think people would buy them if they were good enough quality and was as smooth as the REAL j's</TD></TR></TABLE>

Best reply here. Can't argue with fact... Well, at least it performs on the c5 engine...

Someone post the dyno if you have a link...

i'd be interested.. i have the fake one and tried installing into my 99 SiR and the abs control module bracket is in the way so it doesn't fit.. the 'fat' section is just too fat... anybody wanted a painted, oiled, somewhat beat up fake j's racing intake?

J's intake may make more power but for a honda that is not something that is very hard to gain. Torque is what I personaly would be looking for, and the comptech ice box IMO is the best for that.

Do you know for a fact that carbon fiber/kevlar is more heat resistant than ABS plastic? What makes you think it is smoother than molded plastic?

care to make a case for that? any theory charts/graphs...anything. I'm pretty sure you are going on price and butt dyno and well to tell you the truth NO intake is going to give you any noticable gain in torque.

mmm i dont know </TD></TR></TABLE>

I was told by a race car builder that carbon fiber hoods actually hold heat in more than a normal hood. Also, I'm sure that molded ABS plastic is smoother than carbon fiber, since the resin has a very good chance of having imperfections. . .
