Default failed smog test

my civic failed smog test and i was wondering what should i check...
92 civic si
d16z6 with greddy turbo
greddy turbo bov
everything else is stock

thx in advance

any shop should know that a aftermarket turbo car will not even pass e-test... if they still went ahead and did it for u then they r just tryin to take ur money...

Now wait just a second. There are C.A.R.B. legal turbos that should pass the E-tests. The California Air Resources Board tests them to see if they do increase emissions, if they don't then they are assigned a CARB# and are very legal. Even in California.

What I would do is find one that is legal and uses the greddy turbo and try to match that set-up. As in timing and boost pressure etc...

and if that doesn't work:

most likely that the catalytic converter is not enough for the D16turbo (it is for the D16 NA)...so try to put a bigger one, for some 2,0 engine Honda has got...

try this stuff with a half a tank of gas, run it 30min-1hr before hitting the emissions station. it will lower your emissions and cleans same time.

if u have a turbo, then u kew when u put it in that u werent going to pass smog. that why if ur going to do **** like that, u gotta know ppl in da smog bidness.

you can pass smog with the turbo. he just has to make sure everything is running right. right air/fuel mix, cat working. its a smog legal turbo. so it can pass legally.
