So I failed smog the other day. Here's a scan of the smog results:



The tech said it may be a vacuum leak. So I'm going to have that checked and have some type of comprehensive tune up done too (cap, rotor, plugs). Is there anything else I can do to be able to pass smog? Perhaps replace the cat also?

if so check spark plug/wires, cap/rotor

High NOX indicates a fairly hot combustion chamber, and by the presence of 1.5% O2 you may be running somewhat lean at low RPM. Your catalyst may be damaged as well, because the CO2 is high, indicating a decent combustion event.

A vacuum leak could do that, but NOX looks almost out of control, like your cat isn't even functioning. Did you warm up the car before you went in there, if you went in there with a cold cat, that could do it, catalyst has to be pretty hot to do its job. Only thing I can think of because of the huge drop in NOX at 25mph.

Car was driven for more than 30 minutes, as I had to drive my sister to the dealership so she can drop off her car, then I drove her to work, then drove to get it smogged.

I noticed the stock header was cracked, so I replaced it with another stock header. Gonna change the spark plugs and maybe even the cap and rotor, as they haven't been changed out since I bought the car. I also have a spare cat laying around, so I may as well change that out too. I am the 3rd, maybe 4th owner of the car, and so far it has been driven about 30k miles since I've owned it. The only major thing done besides mods and oil changes was getting a new radiator, changing the head gasket, timing belt, and water pump.
