Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points
Hey guys i'm new to Honda Tech from out of Jamaica, I have a JDM EK4 SiR.
What I wanna know is for JDM SiR Integra or Civic with an unmodified ecu, where exactly does the speed cut and rev limiter come in?

rev limit should be like 8200 RPM. The tachs are usually off and indicate around 8500RPM. The speed cut should be around 120mph...if at all.

Re: Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points (B serious)
The reason I'm asking is that i dont think I have a stock ecu, becuz I rev all the way to
8800rpm(thats where my limiter comes in) and I accelerate all the way to about 200
kilo's where I dont encounter any speed cut and I just simply back off becuz it keeps
going.

Maybe it's a USDM ITR ECU. Try taking off the passenger kick panel and look at the ECU to see if you can get the part number off there.

Re: Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points (B serious)
I had removed the cover once and had a look at it and i remember it being a OBD2A
P2T-#########. I thought only OBD1 ecus could be chipped & modified, and mine
is a OBD2A so thats why I'm wondering if my existing rev limiter and speed cut absence
is normal.

That's a stock ECU in that case. No speed cut, but the rev limiter seems high. Maybe your tach is off by a little.
I thought that since it was an EK4, it would have the JDM ECU with a speed cut. I guess not.

Yeah...I think all the USDM honda ECUs come with no speed cut.

I know the USDM ecus wouldn't come with speed cut becuz the US isn't restricted to
180kph like Japan

When u hit 180kmh it feels kinda like a rev limiter, same kind of cutting in and out like a dum-dum-dum-dum-dum if u get what i mean..lol
I used to hit it in 4th gear usually without even shifting to 5th..
what year is your car?

Re: Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points (JDM Lyfestyle)
Mine is a 97, well if thats where the speed cut comes in and what it feels like that means
i dont have a speed cut then. Where does your rev limiter come in? mine is a 8800rpm
there you get a fuel cut etc

Re: Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points (XtremeKillaB)
Mine came in at 8200..you would notice the speed limiter if it was there-it really feels similar to a rev limiter only its not connected to the revs..its a little slower cutting in and out too..
do you have the orange gauges or blue and white?

Re: Factory SiR Speed Cut & Rev Limiter Points (XtremeKillaB)
I always thought the blue with white was the 99-00 models with the different climate controls..all the civic's Ive seen from those years had them whereas all the 96-98's had the orange...
