F22B1 Swap in an EK?
Hey everyone,
I've searched both on this site and did a Google search and didn't find much info on this. My brother has a 94 Accord EX-R with an F22B1 in it, and the car is starting to fall apart. I would like to take this engine and swap it into my EK sedan, but I'm finding very little info on how to go about this and what parts I need.
My EK is an automatic right now, so what kind of brackets/linkage would I need to pick up to make this happen? Also, my brother's Accord is an auto, so other than the obvious F-tranny, what would be the best tranny to try and pick up for this? Would an H tranny bolt up? And will the Accord axles work, or something else I could scrounge for at the scrap yard?
Thanks in advance for any help. And please don't make this into an argument over how useless the F-series is, quite a few others (such as Bisi) have shown this is a pretty good powerplant. I'm just trying to figure out if this is economically feasible on my limited budget.

H tranny bolts up, its the same swap as an H series. Alot of people take said setup and throw an h22 head on it. Boom. G series. The car doesnt run on a shift likage, its a shift cable (careful with this). Your best bet as far as a transmission goes would be the H22a/a1.
You can get a set of axles from "yonaka" on ebay, theyll bolt right up.

i've not seen it done nor do i think there is any market support for a automatic F-swap. if you're willing to switch to a manual trans, you have a few options:
-the F22b with an F/H 5spd trans, custom axles, custom shift linkage and a mount kit.
-a b-series trans with the H2B/F2B adapter kit and a custom driver's side mount (this may be commercially available now...). this would allow you to use off-the-shelf axles and shift linkage.
-similarly you can use the F2D adapter kit if you're on a budget and your local supply of cheap D-series transmissions is good.
i couldn't say if a complete auto F22B1 swap into the civic is impractical enough to be considered "impossible." i would expect the larger trans case of the auto would cause some clearance issues with the tighter civic frame.

If I did this swap I'd almost certainly just use the F engine out of my brother's car and find a manual tranny to bolt up, rather than trying to put in the automatic. I'm certainly no expert, but if I wanted to boost this setup I've read the Honda auto's won't take much abuse.
