i think you just dont want to listen to luserkid. everything he has mentioned is pretty much what you need to hear. but you just wanna slap on some voltage reducers until the stupid lightshow gauge reads a normal af reading.

The o2 sensor will not work at straight start up. It has to run for a while (or warm up with the motor) That is why your car revs to 1500 to 2k on start up to warm itself up. If its cold the o2 sensor will stay at rich until the car warms up and the o2 sensor is working right to send you the correct feed.

True. It needs to be at 600+ degrees. Also if you tapped the power from an improper location, you will always have incorrect readings. Get your power for the o2 gauge from the +12 and ground wires at the ECU connectors. If you are on another circuit, and there is a .5 volt difference from the ECU voltage (ground potential difference) your readings will be ****.

Spoon feed over.

Did it ever work? How long did it work? Looks like you got ripped. Either that or your O2 sensor is ****. Pick which you think it is.

Start another thread about that, keep this thread about A/F gauges because its going good, dont kill it because you think you know your problems when you dont.

My a/f guage allways runs rich, Why? cause my car allways runs rich. Maybe your guage is working fine and your car is running rich. So why not shut the hell up and fix the proplem and stop arguing with everyone. If you know as much as you say you do why are you even asking?

Take it to the extremely reputable shop you had it installed. Have them throw it on their dyno and hook up their wideband o2 then they can tell you exactly where you af ratio is. If you are running extremely rich you can burn out an o2 sensor in no time flat. So it doesn't matter if they are new or not. Hook up a multimeter to your o2 sensor and tell me what the readings tell you. Is t fluctuating is it not fluctuating. What car is it in what year and what model. Is it a 4 wire o2> You need to give us more info if you want answers......

All I know is that I opened this thread because of the FAQ, understanding how air/fuel ratios gauges work title, thinking cool here is something I can waste some time learning about, instead I get bitchin back and forth, problems that from my uneducated self can only guess is from the user/ installation... and knowing that Luserkid, who has IMHO gained respect from his knowledge, has been wasting his time trying to make this thread worthwhile, but yet I end my time at this thread thinking the kid who started this thread is a waste of time

a/f meters that monitor the stock O2 are not accurate unless of course you have a wideband

1st) the sensor you are talking about is it the o2 sensor? (wanna be certain)
2nd) not sure but will check
3rd) obd2
4th) yes it was installed correctly had another mechanic check it and he told me about the voltage regulator
5th) ??
