Default Expecting too much out of my swap >?

Just bought a 93 civic hatch recently , and dropped in a 95 gsr engine in it 2 days ago . I brought it to the track and ran a 15 flat with a 92 mph trap speed . Is this what I should have expected out of this swap ? or was it my driving ? what do you guys think .........note that the car is all stock , no intake , exhaust or anything ( stock tires ) .............Just feeling the way the car whips on the road I thought I had a mid 14 in the bag . guess not

........What should I Upgrade first to help my time ? thanks

You should have hit a high 14 at least with no problem. Either your driving skills need some work or your motor has problems. Do you have any experience going down the 1/4 mile before? If not, I bet you just need some practice. Good luck.

The car is in its stock trim so whatever that comes out to . My 60 ft times were 2.3 all three runs
1st run 15.5 at 89
2nd run 15.3 at 90
3rd 15.008 at 92

I didnt really get on it off the line because I didnt want to go in an all out spin. Def need new tires .........

Ive been to the track a lot , but this is my first honda I have ever driven .....

what mods are on the engine? what kinda rims and tires are you running on? u should be running mid 14's at least.

i did a 15.0 @ 90 in a stock 95 integra gsr. your car is at least 400lbs lighter.. so u should be running faster.

This might be why...

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Jeff @ IB &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">This is a chart that shows the run in BLUE being the stock Honda Civic Exhaust system, and then another run showing the RED line using the Apex N1 aftermarket exhaust system of 2.5 inches.

When you get a transplant...do not even think that the price of the installation is where it stops. You SHOULD replace your stock header, intake and exhaust. This could cost up to a thousand dollars.
BUT LOOK!! It gives you like 20 HP at the wheels over stock on a civic. So all that aftermarket stuff is not all hype after all huh? That's Apex N1 full exhaust with Cat. DC 4-2-1 header, short ram AC intake. I am not saying that the N1 is the best...I have not tested Exhaust systems VS each other...what I am saying is that an aftermarket Exhaust system will benefit your car greatly if you do a motor swap.

Save your money. Cause going fast requires a lot of little costs. Nobody said racing was cheap!

doesn't matter what you add on, if you can't drive for ****, then you won't hit that 14. there are alot of things to take into consideration.

Just wondering what tranny you are running? That will also affect your times a little bit.

In an integra its not the fastest engine so dont expect much of a change. it is simply a better base to start making power than your old motor. it is good, now make it better.

I was thinking about the exhaust on the way home from the track . Its def draining me not having a larger diameter piping considering im pushing a bigger engine on the stock pipe and old *** kat . Drag radials will prob drop another tenth or 2 .

The trim is si , and the tranny is a gsr

Absolutely. You will probably drop into at least consistent low 14s with intake/header/exhaust. That motor is choking with all the stock systems. On top of that you could have a clogged cat which could be added to the list of things slowing you down. Just keep in mind that you have a si hatch which is the heaviest trim level. You have to account for all the added weight from the power steering, windows, sunroof, brakes, the list goes on.

Open that thing up and let it breath.

I ran a 14.99 with my GSR'd EH2(DX). Turns out I had a bent valve, and a higher trap speed thatn you did. Sensors all plugged in?
