EXHAUST VALVE? WTF
ok, heres the deal. b16a2'd ex
all the bolt ons, exhaust... straight thru, no cat, dc 4-1 headers, thats all that matters i think, anyway.
could i have a bad exhaust valve or somthing that isnt sealing when my car is idle, or off, im losing alot of oil, more than should be lost, when i start my car, my exhaust shoots out some sutty terdish stuff that is all black and wet, kinda powdery too. bad valve spring?
help me out.

well if there is none under it you got to be burning it so it could be a valve, valve spring, or piston ring good luck

What kind of oil are you running? If it's Mobil 1, I've heard from many people that both B and D series engines like to drink Mobil 1. Why? I have no clue.

My K doesn't, but my D15, D16, and H22 do.

doesn't have to be turbo to have oil in you intake tube but There's the air release valve that run from your cover to your intake. most turbo cars have a catch can between there and the intake but since this is not. you still can build up pressure a well you got a nice mess. you can always check it and rule it out.

Re: EXHAUST VALVE? WTF (joedubovik)
If ur car smokes when u start it up but quits, that usually indicates valve guide seals- engine turns off, oil is collected in cylinder head, sits, seaps down through worn valve guides or valve guide seals and is let into the combustion chamber during starts up, producing the smoke.

it would be more along the lines of rings or valve seals. a burned exh valve really wont cause it to use oil. although stranger things have happened. go get some top engine cleaner from gm and do what the instructions say. if the rings are stuck it will free them. i have heard all good about seafoam on here but havent tried it myself yet. i have always used GM Top Engine Cleaner.

sounds like you have water in your oil....how much coolant do you have?? are you eating that too?
edit: just reread that....nevermind.
