exhaust to test pipe gasket?

exhaust to test pipe gasket?
what do i use? the gasket they gave me doesnt meet up... because the bracket on the test pipe isn't flat like the one on the header. can i just stick them together and bolt it up? will it leak? what do i use?

its like that. the header fits into the cat like normal, but the brackets don't meet up flush enough to squeeze the gasket.

That's odd. I have no gasket in between my header and catalyitc converter. The pipe just extends into the cat and I fully tighten the spring bolts.

the one on the stock car is flat? i always thought it was like a donut shape that slipped over the header pipe and fit inside the cat.. looks like a metal donut
