Exhaust question??
I just got a 96 Civic DX and I am starting to mod it. I plan on doing a B16 swap soon, but I still want to put an exhaust on my DX now. I have noticed that they make catbacks for the DX models, but are they any different than a catback for an SI? What catback would be best for my situation b/c I dont want to buy a catback now and have to change it in a few months? If someone could shine some light on my situation I would appreciate it. Thanx

Re: Exhaust question?? (Craig_14)
Here's how I see it...
...You get the Si exhaust - may not fit right (i know for a fact that the 92-95 coupe exhausts are longer than 92-95 hb exhausts) so you need to modify it - you pop the B16 in - for some odd reason the piping between the exhaust manifold and the cat won't line up correctly - need to modify it again...
...You get the DX exhaust - fits perfect. B16 goes in - modify the piping once and you're set.
I'd stick with the DX - both aftermarket exhausts are going to have the same diameter so that's not a problem and you'd know for sure that you'd only need to modify it once. Less worries, you know?

Re: Exhaust question?? (hybridreams)
u can use ur DX exhaust system after ur swap...the only problem is that u will have a 2-3 inch gap between where the cat and the header will hook up...just go to the muffler shop to get that gap covered..and u will be good...my cousin had a civic ex..and he went for the itr swap...he kept the ex exhuast piping on his car..and just went to a muffler shop to get the cat and header connected...

dont worry about it, most cars (dohc or sohc) use the exhaust made for the car, not the engine.
basically the piping size is usually 2 1/4 inch,
hope this helps
