Default Exhaust coming up short...

I have a 1996 Civic CX Hatchback, just bought a T1R exhaust with a SiR (for you yankees an Si) Mid pipe, i laid it out and found that it comes up about 15" short of my exhaust manifold...

I'm ready to cut and weld an extension piece for it to match up, but before i do that i wanted to know if anyone has any alternatives? Biggest issue on my mind is AirCare and passing emissions... TIA!!

you have the cat on the header right??
if so then thats because the SI/SIR mid pipe is cut to allow a cat to be in between the header and cat back.

i believe the cat is on the header, the exhaust manifold has 2 seperate parts bolted together... and i assumed that the Si/SiR midpipe ended from the cat, it seems like the approx. length of a cat/test pipe... Im just wondering really if theres an oem cat that would fit into that missing gap i have, cuz if i weld up a extension piece then id have to worry about passing emissions... any ideas?

Just get an extension made. It will not hamper emissions since your cat is in your exhaust manifold.

i figured it wouldnt effect emissions for now, but i intend to swap out the engine later on, thats why im holding back right now from getting headers until i get the engine, but when i do get aftermarket headers then ill be running pretty much a straight pipe with no cat... this is what im most worried about but i guess i can worry about that later on... unless somones got a plan? ill most likely just extend it...
