EX OEM power windows install to 93 hatch?
i know this topic has probably been covered many times.. but i cant seem to find any good instructions to install OEM EX power windows onto my 93 hatch.
i have all of the harness (the harness was cut a little after the point where it goes into the cabin; so im not sure which wires go where), motors, etc. all i've been able to find were spal installation instructions, and this one site called Jackmoves but the instructions on this site are not very clear.. especially the wiring.. can someone please direct me to some really helpful info.. dont say serach either cuz i already have.. and if u do find some useful info.. i'll kick myself in the ***

A bump to help you out. Unfortunately, beyond running to the fuse box there isn't much information I can give you, unless you have the color of the wires that are running from that harness.

Re: EX OEM power windows install to 93 hatch? (egg_baLLa)
im looking at the circuit diagram in the hemls manual and i believe that the WHITE/YELLOW wire is the wire from the master switch for the driver side window, and the BLUE/BLACK wire is the wire that controls the passenger side window from the master switch. am i correct? i kinda have a clue as to where these wires connect under the fuse box, but i'll wait for your repsponses just to be sure. also, are there any other wires from the driver side wire harness that should be connected to the fuse box?

Yeah I had the complete harness that plugged into the fusebox hence the lack of wiring info on the site. But here you go...
On the drivers side you need to get power to the white/yellow wire. Thats the main power source to the drivers side window switch. If the rest of the door harness is uncut that should let you use your drivers window. On the passenger side the blue/black wire is main power for the passenger switch. I would advise wiring in a 20 amp fuse between whatever power source youre using and the window wiring though to keep it safe. Oh also if you want to wire up the drivers switch to controll the passenger window you need to run wires and connect the blue/yellow and blue/green wires from drivers wiring harness to the passenger wiring harness. Hope this helps. let me know if you need lock or mirror info but thats pretty straight forward.

yep i kinda figured thats how it goes.. however i do have a question: i know the BLUE/BLACK wire powers the passenger side switch, but doesn't it also power the driver side switch that controls the passenger window? the circuit diagram shows the BLUE/BLACK wire connecting to both the driver and passenger switches. can anybody clarify?

the blue black wire does not connect to both switches. Im not sure what wire diagram youre looking at. You only need to be concerned with the wiring diagram below all the "No.5 (20 A)" fuses as you are not running the power through the fuse box. Therefore the only power your switches will see are on the white/yellow for the driver side, and the blue/black for the passenger side.

I found the repo.jackmoves "how to" very straight forward. If you go over it again, i'm sure you'll see that it is very simple. It helps if you get the plug harness that goes into the back of the fuse box. The one in the right in this pic. Go to a salvage yard and pull it out. If you grab that, and the P/W relay out of the fuse box, you'll have a cleaner install, you'll be using the 20a fuse in the fuse box, and nothing to figure out, because all the wires are color coded. Only thing you'll have to run is the two wires to the passenger side

yeah. its going to give you a power source for all the items already after the required 20 amp fuse and make the install a bit easier. All you would have left to do is extens wires and connect like colors to like colors on the passenger side.

the other dude might be able to help you out. I have actually since the install sold my 92 hatch so I wouldnt be able to go look for you. Anyone have this info available I can put it up on the jackmoves "how to" and give credit.
