Thats why you get the best parts when peicing it together, not used parts. if you crack and intercooler, or your turbo dies. do you go buy a new kit, or replace the broken parts?

For $500 more you could have gained about 30hp via turbo. It's all good though, I made that same mistake too. I spent about $1300 on N/A crap when I could have spent $2600 and gotten about 3 to 4 times the HP.

A turbo would add alot more than 30hp. header and intake is what maybe 13hp?

When we say piece together we mean buy the parts that you want for the turbo and turbo paraphernalia. Not go out and buy crap that has been beat to **** and not taken care of.
Exactly.

Well, I'm just giving very modest difference between turbo and NA...which would be 30 HP. He'll probably gain more but even if it was only 30 whp difference it would still be a little more than double what he'd probably gain with NA
Dont take this as us tryin' to rain on your parade, DelSolMarine. We're just telling you since you can still correct your mistake

well i got the full motor swap with tranny and lsd and ac brackets from hmotorsonline for around 3600 dollars and i got these extra things cause of course ima need an upgrade exhaust for a turbo kit... and i can sell a header later.. so i did the right thing im probably gonna get a turbo in about a year... ive thought this all through a lot.. i didnt make any mistakes trust me.... i took out a 5000 dollars loan... im getting the motor installed by someone 2... ive never done a motor swap either so i gotta pay someone to do it... atleast to my daily driver... ima put that SOHC in there now in my brothers old CRX and break that lol

Re: EVERYTHING IS ON THE WAY!!! (DelSolMarine)
4-2-1 = low end power
4-1 = top end power
therefore
DD that you drive normally = 4-2-1
dd that you rev the **** out of (why not? its a honda....made for revs) = 4-1
edit: get a 4-1, that GSR LOVES the upper rpm range

Re: (Boostage)
why the expletive does every d/b series thead about motor upgrades always result in a turbo post within 5 posts? I mean come on guys then of course like i didnt see it "you can peice together a kit for blah blah blah"
only thing i was pleased to see was you arent running a test pipe like the rest of the ricers and using a hfc so i wont flame you
EDIT 5000$ loan o man that wasnt a wise choice, you should have sold the car and then taken about 8000$ and boughten a nicer NEWER car. I will tell you this (what i tell my friends when they do stupid stuff like this) what if in a year or 2 you want to sell the car, that car with the gsr swap will net for about im guessing 5k tops. So you payed 120 a month for 24 months that means you paid 2880 not including interest so you have about 2500 left on the loan. Something is going to break (i can garenttee it) and then you will have to pay for that.. so in the end you are going to lose a lot of money, reverse that loan now and be done im telling you, ohh and btw im guessing you are on a 3 or 4 year loan.. what happens when you go away to school and you cant work enough to pay a loan car insurance gas and going out money.... just something to think about you musta been cutting it close with 5k to huh?
