Default Everyone With Power Windows on DX/CX

freind just bought a car with a ghetto rigged power window set up, off an ex we belive. i saw another member post with the same problems but the thread wasnt talking much about it.

it worked at first and now it just rolls down half way and both are stuck like that.

-im pretty sure its off-track, but what else could be wrong?

-could it also be the motor rolling the windows up is bad?

-how hard is it to put it back on track? any tips, ideas?

TIA

It's probably a bad window regulator.

wire them up directly to a 12v constant power and see if they go up and down with no problems

When you click the switch up, does the window slightly move or does NOTHING happen. Remove the door panel and take a look is going to be the easiest way to see what's going on.

When I click the switch up when it's all the way down it goes up then gets off track and stuck. Same thing on both sides.

Alright I'll try it today or for sure t/m.

Your window is probably off track. Remove the door panel and plastic, there will be some holes where you will be able to see the mounting bolts and white plastic tabs of the actual window that are there. Click the window up and down and see when at exatly which point it goes off track each time. Then look at the rubber lining on the sides of the window to make sure it isn't twisting or binding a little.
