Default Estimated Horsepwoer gains D16y8

Hello All,

I am new to the forums and fairly new to Hondas. We are just wrapping up an engine that has several modifications to it. Here is what we have done to it:

Fully ported, gasket matched head
25k's cut off of head
.0027 Cometic Head gasket w/ stud kit
Comp Cams Severe Street/Strip part #105300
Upgraded valve springs
MSD cap, rotor and coil
ported intake
OBD1 tunable ECU ( currently has stock basemap)
2.5" custom exhaust.

Based on my upgrades, what can we expect to get out of this combination? The bottom end is completely stock at this point with standard bore (1590 CC's)

Get it dyno'd and find out. But no real gains.

In the meantime, check the rules prior to posting.

Sorry! I didn't know that. Thanks for pointing that out and answering my question.

It takes relatively little to mod a D-series to gain power until about 140hp. After that it becomes incredibly difficult and expensive to coax power out of it. Check the link in my signature then head over to the All Motor section and review what it takes.

Go back to oem cap and rotor etc. msd is a down grade on a Honda when it comes to that.

maybe 15 whp, possible 10+ if tuned chip, since you already put money into the engine might as well put a turbo in it for a couple g's more and run 220+
