Does anyone know if 17300-S02-L02 includes the canister AND canister vent shut valve
I was wondering if anyone knows if the assembly (part number above) includes both for a 1998 Honda Civic EX.

Also I have replaced the following:

Vent pressure sensor assbly
Solenoid valve assbly
2 way valve

... all by the gas tank.

What and where are the following components:

Evap canister - I know where this is
Purge valve - ???? (part number?)
bypass valve - ??? (part number?)

It was recommended I replace these last three components to solve my P1457 code. Will be ordering tonight. Just need to figure out where they are located and the part number. Thanks!!!

Number 7 on that one?

Maybe 13/14 on that one?

You could always call the dealer.

Couldn't tell ya, I don't run any emissions on my car. I don't think it should be that hard. I think there is like a electrical connector and just some tubes.

If you order Evap Canister part #17300S02L02
for a 1998 Honda Civic beware that the valve IS INCLUDED (valve part #17310SV4L32) - OEM part.

I ordered the canister assembly from CFL Honda and was told that the canister did not include the valve, which I ordered seperately. Received my order today and the canister DOES INCLUDE the valve. Hopefully they will let me return it since it has not been used. Just a heads up for those looking to replace the valve or the canister - in fact its cheaper just to order the assembly since the assembly is like $15.00 more than just the valve by itself. HTH

My P1457 error code solution!!!
This has been going on for a while, P1457 code kept popping up. Used the Honda service manual instructions on how to narrow the culprit down... didn't really help. I first started by replacing the solenoids, etc, in and around the gas tank as Honda recommends. Well, same issue popped up, so Honda recommends replacing the ECU, which I found a virgin one for cheap. Problem still remained, when tank was about 1/4 full. Finally said to hell with it and ordered Honda parts for the evap canister w/solenoid included and the purge solenoid above the fuel rail. PROBLEM SOLVED. So although I do not know which one it was, canister or purge, this may help someone in the future save some $$$$...

I've searched all around for the P1457. Glad you solved the problem finally.
In your list above, you didn't mentioned the "Bypass Solenoid Valve (P/N 17012-s01-A00)", which is listed in the TSB 03-001.
Is that same as "17012-S84-A01 VALVE SET, SOLENOID (MADE IN JAPAN)"?
Thanks.

Well, I'm glad you persevered and finally solved your P1457 error code problem.

I'm facing exactly the same problem now. I drive a 1998 4-cylinder Honda Accord, manual transmission 5 speed.
Over a period of 3 years my CEL kept coming on. My mechanic has
- changed the solenoid and valves
- I have replaced the gas cap
- put in a new gas tank
- last week put in a new catalytic converter on the advice of my mechanic after my car failed the emissions test.

The CEL came on again soon after the new cat converter was put in. I had the engine oil changed (always used synthetic oil) and the young guy said it's possible there is a leak in the flex pipe. ?? Where is that? Another trip to the mechanic this week.

The CEL is still on.

I want to make sure I pass the emissions test in December. My car drives beautifully, and it has only 90,000 miles on it; properly maintained and oil undercoated every year.

I really want to solve this problem and keep driving this beautiful old thing.

Sorry to revive an old thread but I have the EXACT same issue, I just bought a 1998 Accord LX sedan 5 speed manual last week and as I was driving around a couple days ago the CEL came on, went to AutoZone and their scanner pulled up the P1457 code. Of course they simply said it was a faulty gas cap, so I tightened the cap and reset the ECU. I have not seen the light again but all indications from what I have read on here point to it being either a valve, solenoid, or canister related to the EVAP system. Ugh- I am quite familiar with this model Accord (having owned a 2001 several years ago) but I have never had to mess with the EVAP system before. From previous posts on here from former Honda mechanics, it appears it is just easiest to replace the canister (with solenoid) and be done with it!

Thanks for posting in the correct forum. Whooops!
There's a reason H-T is broken in different sections. Some of these cars may be very similar and some absolutely not. Unfortunately yours is not. You are better served posting in the Accord forum if you want relevant answers and useful responses. A search may have led you to this specific thread but it's still in the wrong forum.
