Erasing error code! Help!
Hey guys, I recently purchased a 99 si. I changed out the p72 ECU the previous owner had in favor of the stock si ECU. I immediately got the "check engine" light reading error code p1337, which has to do with the CFK sensor. I referred to my 96-00 service manual and the first trouble shooting step it said to take was to reset the ecm/pcm. Not sure if it was the proper thing to do but using my diagnostic scanner i erased the error code. Then i disconnected the battery for 30 min and reconnected it. There is currently no "check engine" light on. Did resetting my ecm work (doubtful) or did i simply erase it and havent actually solved anything yet... Thank you all for your help!
I've only driven it about 10 miles and it hasn't returned yet, I'll follow your advise and wait for the 150 mile mark. I just don't know too much about the CFK sensor and whether it's a critical part of the engine...
Yes it has the stock b16a2, previous owner had swapped in a h22 but put the original engine in a few months prior to me buying it. BTW, it has gsr cams, if that makes a difference.
