Default Engine swapping question....

I have 2 civics one is a 95 si , the other is a 2000 cx, i want to put the engine out of the 95 into the 2000. Is it easier toswap just the motors and not the trannies?? or is it easier to swap the whole thing??

thanks for any help

all 92-2000 trannys will bolt up w/out a problem.

Definetly easier to put engine in with the tranny on, I hate putting transmissions on with the engine in the car.

No what i ment was leaving the trannies in the cars and just swapping the entire block assemlby.... i know it only a few bolts that holds in the tranny i just dont have a regular engine hoist so i am using a engine hoist thats hangs over the car and im worried about being able to get it moved around to get everything to line up... does that make any sense?

thanks neil

Gottcha, its alot easier to just remove the tranny. I think at least, others may have another opinon on this.
We have always just takin the engine out from bottom and went in from bottom.

If the car is jacked up high enough, you can lower the motor and trans and slide it from underneath and then bolt the motor to the engine you want together and put it under the car and raise it to bolt it to the bay.

If we have a hoist then from the top all together is easier. And yes its alot easier to remove both at the same time.
