Default Engine problem

Oh guys....This has been going on for a while now.

My car seems to loss power in 2nd gear under hard acceleration.

I can accelerate to redline through 1st gear but when I get to about 7k rpm in 2nd my car losses power all of a sudden. Its so bad that I actually jerk foward from the loss of power. Then if I try to go past 6k rpm it wont let me. Its like the reline gets lowered to 6k. Now this has been going on for a while. It used to cause my #4 spark plug wire to pop up but still have enough contact so it wouldnt misfire.

I would push the wire back down on the spark plug and I would have the problem again until soem other time I accelerate hard in second. Also this happens randomly. SO it dosent happen all the time.

Come to find out my MSD wires were faulty. SO I put the stock ones back on. Well it still happens but the wires dosent pop up.

Here are my mods just to give you a idea.

MSD Blaster SS Coil
MSD Pro Cap
DC 4-2-1 CC Header
AEM V2 CAI
Tanabe SMR Catback System
custom ground kit from 6 gauge monter cable w/ gold plated connectors
APEXi VAFC II
AEM FPR
Walbro 255 lph FP
Denso Iridium Spark Plugs

Thats all my performance mods that I can think of.

Have you checked your fuel pressure? 255lph is a high fuel pump for a basically stock motor.. you could actually be pushing too much fuel.

I have a B&M FP Gauge and I set the FP between 40 & 47 like my Service Manual says.

Sounds like an ignition problem to me! Try the stock components or just recheck the MSD components. Check every little detail too.

Does your check engine light stay on before you try and start the car? Do you hear your fuel pump prime before starting? Check for spark while trying to start, just have someone pull on of the plug wires from the distributor, it should arc across. Let us know.

sounds like its flooded dude... try cranking it (W/O touching the throttle) and just keep goin at it for a while, should cough it up and kick over.. also try to feed it the least amount of fuel possible till it kicks over again

OMG guys you are stating the obvious....ITS NOT A IGINTION ISSUE...I figured out what it is...Your probably gonna laugh. But I suspected it from the start...Well about the car not starting. anyway.

SI wouldnt start this morning when it was about 30 degrees. Battery wouldnt even charge with a charger or being jump charged. Car wouldnt start from a jump either. Its the original battery so I assume that it has croaked on me. I go back up to Wal0-Mart where its parked and use the wifes car to jump it. Car starts right up. Heres the diagnosis. THe battery is not holding enough charge for cold starts. So the amp must be to low to start and fire the car.

Called honda to see what a new will cost. $71 w/ a exhange!...I work at Wal-Mart and get a 10% discount on a EverStart and get it for $41 w/2yr warranty.

As for the power lossissue. I believe you guys are right about the FP...I had it set to about 45-46psi..SO I backed it down to 41. I was thinking that at WOT that, like said above there was to much fuel. But thats really weird. Ive never heard of this happening before since it is a return style fuel system.

I don't understand, you said you car turned over....yet you had a dead battery? Anyway, good luck with the other problem, which has nothing to do with fuel pressure.

The battery died after trying to crank it so many times.

Okay It happened again. It ONLY heppens when its very cold outside. Like around 30 degrees or so. But when its warmer (around & above 40) it will start righ tup like there is no problem what so ever.
