A Z6 what? Head? Manifold? Cam? I'm assuming the head.

How descriptive

So you put a timing chain on an engine that uses a timing belt . . . ?
Help us to help you. Take more time to make a descriptive post with enough information. "A noise after 4000 RPM" tells us nothing. What kind of noise? What does it sound like? Have you been able to determine a general area in the engine bay where the noise is coming from? When did this noise start? Did you notice it immediately after the head swap? It changed when you adjusted the timing? Does it happen all the time, or only at certain times (i.e. only when the engine is cold or warm)?

ok sorry, its like a piging noise but ir goes away as the rpms go up,and i put a z6 head. as i said before,it was louder before i retarded the timming. You guys think i put the timming BELT wrong.i put top dead center on the block and on the head i alined it with the second mark on the bottom, not alined to the head.

Have you tried to pinpoint where the noise is coming from?
Often, when a metallic rattling noise occurs at only a certain RPM, it is reated to exhaust resonance. Are you sure it isn't an exhaust heat shield rattling? That would also explain why it is louder when cold and then quiets down as the car warms up . . .

My car use to make that sound around 40-50 mph... it ended being something with my passenger wheel bearing =P.... but is it comming from one side of the car?

My EK used to do that around 2000 RPM. Removed all of the heat shields on the exhaust.....problem fixed. There's more than one, so make sure you got all of them.
