my car (93 civic dx, 95 gsr engine) is getting a code 23 (knock sensor)...ok, the knock sensor detects abnormal vibrations in the engine, right? i myself and a very reputable shop in this area have looked at the wiring, sensors, etc. and cannot find anything wrong....the car has a Prothane Polyurethane engine mount insert (really ****** hard, lol), and the whole car shakes and vibrates like a bitch at idle....could that possibly causing the knock sensor code? anybody ever had this happen? thanks....
the polyurethane mounts are not causing any more vibration... they are just transfering the vibration to the interior of the car, whereas if it was a stock mount, they will absorb the vibration.... but no difference to the engine in terms of vibration. and no.. it is not because of that that yr knock sensor code is coming on. try changing your knock sensor.. ... and double check that yr knock sensor wire goes to D3... and not somewhere else.
Has it always come on.. since you did the swap.. or did it just recently.

the code has just came on here recently, right after the mount was installed, which is what led me to believe this...the shop owner is supposed to put in a softer mount on monday, and if that doesn't work then i'm gonna replace the knock sensor...may have to call and tell him to not even worry bout the mount...thanks for the info
i used to hav a hatch that had polyurethane mounts too.. and vibrated my interior.. like a biatch.. but never had a prob with the knock sensor code.
i would try replacing the knock sensor first b4 trying to replace the mounts.. replacing that rear mount is a bitch....

we checked the plug and its in there very tight...not broken or anything...thanks though...by the way, anyone know how much a new knock sensor is by chance? thanks
by that reply.. i would think taht yr mechanic fucked something up when installing the rear mounts..(it is very close to the knock sensor). It is a bitch to install.. and he might have kinked something on the knock sensor.
