Default Engine in hatch with a twist.......(Has anyone ever done this)

I was thinkin of putting a gsr motor in my hatch but not in the engine bay.i haveta pick up the motor 3 hours away from here and i cant get a hold of any other vehicle other than my own.i really dont feel like renting anthing either cause im a cheap ***. Has anyone ever done this and made it possible.Like if i remove my seats(other than drivers of course)would this work?

you might be able to...but might be a tight fit...or why not rent a UHAUL truck if you guys have one there or something similar.

As long as the motor and tranny are seperated I wouldn't think it would be an issue.

my freind rode around with his motor in the passenger seat for over a weak. It was funny because when he made a hard stop he would have to make a grab for the motor so it didn't hit his dash.

Bottom line, it very possible. But for a complete swap I would rather ask a freind who has a larger car/truck.

lol.

Oh yeah....the hatch is the most versatile car out there. My friends just picked up and engine about an hour away a few weeks ago....3 people plus full swap and axles in an EK....lol

You'd be suprised at what you can fit in there

no problem.i carry swaps in my EG all the time.i always throw an old dismounted tire in the back to sit the oil pan down in to.this helps keeps the motor stabilized.

i ahve moved a d series swap in my hatch, we got it in jsut fine with the tranny still attached....but getting it out solo i had t separate the tranny. i would recommend separating them before you put it in the car though.

it will work just take out the passenger side seat and put it in there. if not you can put it in the back but your car will sag real low

My friend had his d16 complete with transmission in the back of an integra! It should fit in a hatch, but it's going to be a bitch to take out
