Re: Engine Damper kit
Benefit? Nothing. Just get stiffer motor mounts.
Here's some advice while you're looking through the magazines.
When you spot something and think about it going on your car, come back to H-T, look through a bunch of nice build threads and see if you see them. Chances are you won't.

Re: Engine Damper kit
i bought into the whole engine damper thing back when i used OEM motor mounts...just upgrade to Avid or Hasport and an engine damper isn't needed.
Hey Marc, have u ever used solid billet mounts? I just took mine off, horrible horrible thing to do if you don't have a motor that doesn't produce the torq needed for those mounts....vibrations everywhere!

Re: Engine Damper kit
hey thanks for the reply... haha especially this cat aviator haha... I tought it would reduce the minimal power loss of engine or increase some torque when hard rev. But nothing is gain?... how about it reduce hard wear and tear of the mounting? Thank you

Re: Engine Damper kit
if you're running OEM mounts and want less engine movement, buy better mounts. If you have an engine that's producing so much power to where you're still getting movement with solid poly mounts then get solid billet mounts. If you have a stock motor that isn't producing too much power, then stick with OEM mounts (check to see if your current ones are worn as well.)

Re: Engine Damper kit
Hasports are about $300 depending where you shop, Avid makes some for around $250 (same quality, extra $50 for Hasports name). OR, if you're a broke bastard like most of everyone i know in the local import scene, you can do the DIY custom solid OEM mounts...i'm running them until my turbo build is complete on my other engine. For being a cheap mod for solid mounts, they work pretty decent, just gotta google the DIY directions.

Re: Engine Damper kit
I'll tell you. I had an NRG damper. It worked. No sooner than I installed the Hardrace mounts it became obsolete. Problem with the damper is that it kept vibrating itself apart!

Re: Engine Damper kit
i believe that, how was your interior vibration with the Hardrace mounts? I had those solid billet mounts and everything would vibrate, couldn't even use the mirror. I took those out and replaced the mounts with some of the custom (lol) solid mounts, no more engine torque and no more vibrations...i don't expect them to last long tho.

Re: Engine Damper kit
I guess i'll save some and go for the better mounting. So this damper is not as good as they describe. but it do looks cool bolt on ^.^. I always wanted the parts upgrade that gain performance or it as real thing that work for best bugs more than any just a cosmetic or ricer that people might think of me.

Re: Engine Damper kit
it may look cool but that's all it's used for, unless that K20 they have it bolted to is a torque monster and is moving around even with Hasport mounts. As for the mounting, look into Hardrace or Avid, both are really solid companies with great customer service...i do like Hasport but why pay the extra $50 when you can use it for something else.
