Engine Codes

Re: Engine Codes (Spoon Guy)
Uhh, I don't know what I mean. I'm looking for the codes to UK spec cars. I'm hoping to match them up to US spec Civics so modifications can commence

Re: Engine Codes
1.5L were from 5th Gen Civics weren't they?
The 6th Gen uses the D-series SOHC engine, 1.6L. The EX (US) or Si (CN) coupe uses the 1.6L SOHC VTEC D16Y8 I think. The Si (US) or SiR (CN) coupe uses the 1.6L B16A DOHC VTEC engine.
B16B is the Civic Type R engine I believe.

96+ Civic HX D15Z 1493cc
4 cyl, 16 valve
SOHC VTEC-E
9.4:1 c.r.
PGM-FI (MPFI)
115 bhp @ 6200
Redline: 7100 rpm 104 lb-ft @ 5400
So I assume it's this one.
Is it any good?

Re: Engine Codes (Don Wan)
Hmm, well that depends on the chassis that the engine is being applied to.
Lightened Civic hatch with Spoon B16A will definitely outrun a Cos in 1/4mile.

Re: Engine Codes (tunedSiR2)
Really? A spoon does 0-60 in less than 5.7 seconds?
I'm not sure if you know of these Cosworths... they're the ones with 4wd and a big F@$% off rear wing. Not the same as US Ford Escorts.

Re: Engine Codes (Don Wan)
No i doubt that the Cos will lose in the 0-60, but 1/4 mile maybe.
what kinda 1/4 mile does the Cos run?
Is it faster than the Taurus SHO?

Re: Engine Codes (tunedSiR2)
Dunno. The Taurus isn't availible over here. 0-60, an M3 will get there 0.1seconds quicker (than a Cosworth)
