what kind of racing??

B16's are fun rev happy engines. You can still get good mileage and just as reliable as anything else. Plus, they can be had for pretty cheap.

D16Z6 is plenty of engine for my daily driving and Solo racing

Depends on what you want out of the motor, but for gods sake search. The last post on the first page of the FAQ thread has all kinds of these type threads.

Stupidest comment ever. If you want to spend that kind of money get the B18C5 and have some torque.

the gsr motor has a lot of low-end and mid-range grunt (over the b16a)..... drop the hammer in any gear and you'll get pull..........

My GSR seems reliable so far with about 15k on it since last year. Motor now has 67k on it total and runs like a champ

h 2 2 a

torque is good when you need to pass someone......h22a isn't a monster but has plenty more than the rest of them

running 13s/14s with a stock setup.....and all for $3500 or so

Love my GSR Hatch. I would definately do it again for a daily driver. Maybe not a 3 puck clutch though

yeah true, a h22 would be a pretty good daily driver but if you want to do it somewhat inexpensive then I would get the b16 and you would still have lots of options to build for the future

b18c1..
ive had mine for 9 months now and im happy with it.. i cant say ne thing else for any other engine though. depending on where you live i say get anything usdm or something thatll get a bar sticker. ive had my hood popped a couple times and the cops were impressed that everything was legal and just let me off with warnings.

im pretty sure any stock honda engine ( d or b series ) would be good for daily driving.. but id suggest the GSR if you have the money... its pretty fast if you leave it stock and it has a lot of potential... just my 2 cents

if you can financially swing a b18c1 i would do that. it offers a very nice compromise of high end power and low end responsiveness.

as far as a reliable engine you can even get a D16Y7 and its going to reliable (come on they are hondas they go for ever if treated preety decent) but if you want to race go with a B18C1 if going N/a, if going on boost later on bet a B18B(ls engine i think thats the engine code) it has good low compresion for it

All stock, I say H22. Especially for the daily driving part. Torque factor is awesome.
