Emissions: High Hydrocarbons, What to Check?
This is on a Civic VX (Stock) with approx. 130k, new wideband already.
Anyway, what would cause high hydrocarbons on such a car?
The car also just got the standard tune up, could it be timing?
This is my first time dealing with emissions stuff, thanks!

This is on behalf of a friend, but the NOx is fine, and he thought the cat was gone but Honda (who did the inspection) said it was fine.
Anyway, I still suspect the cat, does anyone have a CX/VX/STD/HF cat for sale that's not dead?

Re: (SVOboy)
So here are the specifics:
Emmision COntrols Visual/Functional Inspection:
EGR System: Pass
PCV System: Pass
Fuel Inlet Restrictor : Pass
Catalytic Converter: Pass
Evaporative Control System: Pass
Gazs Cap Integrity: Pass
Tailpipe Emmissions Inspection:
740 RPM, CO Reading 0.07, Limit 1.20, PASS
2381 RPM, CO Reading 0.11, Limit 1.20, PASS
740 RPM, HC Reading 239, Limit 220, FAIL
2381 RPM, HC Reading 116, Limit 110, PASS
So it failed because its about 10% over on the HC only at idle. The report also notes that it failed emmissions inspection because of the high HC and because the gas cap is bad.
Any ideas?
