My car sometimes starts and doesn't start. Sometimes it will start fine and drive normally but if i turn it off for a minute and try and start it up it just clicks. It sounds like the starter is clicking but no turn over. When did happens I usually wiggle the negative battery wire and it sometimes starts. It has been happening to me for about a year now but it has been getting worse now.
The car has the original motor but with 158,xxx miles on it. I replaced the battery, spark plugs, and alternator about 2 years ago but i am very frustrated of this starting problem right now

I will be doing that this weekend. Also when it is cold outside the car will start fine but if it is hot outside, past 75 it will just click all day until i wiggle the battery wire around

sounds like a bad ground. ran into a similar issue on a friends car and it turned out that the negative power wire for the battery had corroded underneath the insulation.

Okay i tried to start about 20 min ago and no click at all! I repeatedly try to start it and no click but my last try i held the key for a couple seconds and it started right up.. Starter going bad?
