Default EM1 headunit install. Help me out.

I have a 99 Si. I'm not quite sure what to search for since I'm not quite sure if it's an issue or not. I'm about to install a headunit into my EM1. My friend did this...and for some reason lost his keyless entry. I've heard SOMEWHERE that the keyless is connected to the back of the radio...so to leave the stock radio tucked behind the console along with the aftermarket radio.

Anyone wanna shed some light on this?

i think in 99 they changed it over to where the keyless control box is located in the driverside kickpanel. on my 00, it was a direct swap.

Correct^
The keyless and dome light control is only in the radio for 96-98 Civics. Dont worry about it.

one thing i think you have to do, is to screw the pocket under the radio in so that it doesnt move.

lol dont worry about it. I dont want you to have to take the car apart or anything. Do you mean the lower din pocket? I bought an install kit for like 12 bucks. Did you just screw yours into the existing stock bracket or something?

yeah, i didnt buy a mounting kit at all, my cd player screwed into the stock place, and had to stick a screw on each side on the bottom of the pocket to hold it in place.

if you buy the right kit you shouldnt need to screw the pocket in at all. the kit should bolt in from the side of just pop in if you are cage mounting it.

yeah I dont think I'm gonna use this kit. It deletes the lower din pocket. Less compartments?! Surely, they jest.
