Default Electrical Help 1999 Civic!! Fuel pump switch, dome and dash lights

Hey Guys, so today I had some time to fix a couple issues with my car, but the further i looked into the car the more problems/issues i found. Here are some of the issues, wondering if anyone can help me

1.)Fuel pump switch?
I was looking under the rear seats and i saw this switch coming of one of the wire that looks like it leads into the fuel pump. I attached a photo of it, i did wire it back correctly but wondering why there would be a switch there?

2.)Dome Light/Door jambs
When i got the car i noticed the dome light wouldn't work when the doors were opened but did when the dome light switch was turned to on, i looked at the door jambs noticed both have rusted off, so i replaced one but still nothing, Do i need both to complete a circuit or what? I do have an after market radio, heard it wont work if you have an aftermarket radio

3.)Dash light Dimmer
Basically the dimmer doesn't work, but the dash lights do, any way to see if its just the dimmer thats broken or something

Pry the dimmer switch out of the dash and check whether somebody shorted the red and black wires in the connector.

Does the Grn wire in the door switch connector have battery voltage to body ground? if you ground the Grn wire, does the dome light turn on?

Set the ceiling light switch to the center position (turns on light when door open).

Unplug connector B from the integrated control unit in the rear of the dash fuse box. Ground ground the Lt Grn/Red wire at B8 in the connector to see whether the light turns on.

Tried it. Nothing, what would that wire even do?

It's the ground wire for the ceiling light.

Ground the same wire in the ceiling light connector (plugged in). It's possible that the ceiling light switch is bad.

So even if the ceiling light works in the on position, try it anyways?

Yes

The two switch positions use different grounds. The On position grounds the light locally, whereas the Door position grounds through the Lt Grn/Red wire.

You could but it won't yield the desired effect, that is the light turns on when the door is opened.

Just do the test and post the result.

Sounds like the switch is bad or corroded in the middle position. Clean the contacts or replace.

Yeah tried that. Idk if this would help, but when i first got the car there was a wire red/white that was hooked up to the fuses, not sure why but it was supposed to be connected to the DLC, so i wired it back where belongs

Tried what? Cleaning the contacts? If so, you may need to replace the ceiling light assembly. By the way, you can Ohm test the switch.

Grounding the wire that leads from the dome light, what i also did was wire that ground to the door jamb assembly directly and it worked, so we can determine that somewhere the ground cable is cut, do you know where the left and right door jamb ground wire meet?
