EK Water/Intake question.
Ok so iwas driving in the rain today, I have a Aem cai btw, and when i parked at home i noticed my cas was dripping water (from rain). Should i be too worried about this ? I know water in the engine = bad. Thanks in advanced for help.

just dont go driving thru rivers... your should be ok.
theres a long way for the water to be sucked up, esp if you have a CAI.
when you go thru puddles and whatnot, just cruse through it, dont gas it, thats when the TB is open and sucking.
ive been driving w/o my splash guard for a while and ive had no problems yet.
if you're really concerend, you could always get the bypass valve.

thanks for the help i recently sucked water in (previous engine same car) and it was hell on my car it didnt die but gave me trouble getting started again for a day or so. Really white Smoke!. Since then i replaced the engine nothing hasa changed in the positioning of the Cai so im thinking there is a chance it could easily happen again. I always let off the gas though on puddles.

Re: EK Water/Intake question. (ArthurBrazil)
If your engine was running fine on the way home and will start up again your fine. "Water in engine = Bad" because engines are built with a planned out compression ratio for a certain air/fuel mixture that can be compressed safely. Water on the other hand, cannot be compressed like air. therefore if cold water induction takes place, a knock like feeling will occur. If enough water is resting on a piston, something Will go. rod/piston or hole in block, anything. I second the aem bypass.
