EK Transmission - Reluctant 2nd Gear And Reverse.
Hey folks, I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this one. My Si coupe's gearbox feels reluctant at low revs to change to 2nd, often resulting in it being missed, it also feels at high revs (7,500ish) that when I changes into 3rd the lever is being snatched from my hand but is still reluctant. Reverse is also very hit and miss. You can almost hear a clunk when changing into 2nd at more or less any rev range.
Anything serious ? trannys are not really my fortee !
Out of curiosity, what sort of transmission bolts up to my engine as a replacement, any recommendations ?, its a european car, ek3 b16c it says on the plate however Im sure that the b16c is a european model number as I find very few references to it on here other than you don't hear of them much.
Thanks peeps.

Re: EK Transmission - Reluctant 2nd Gear And Reverse. (Problemo)
Sounds like your tranny just wants some new fluid. You could either use some Honda MTF, or some GM Synchromesh. I would personally go with the synchromesh, but I don't know if you'll be able to find it in Europe.
Any B-series tranny would work, the only one I would recomend as an upgrade though would be an ITR tranny. But you don't really need a new tranny, just some fresh fluid.
