EK rear disc conversion question.
Ok, so my buddy has a four door EX EG for a parts car that has rear discs on it. What all do I need to convert my rear drums (on '97 Coupe) with the rear discs off the EG? Also, I did search and didn't find an answer quick enough. Thanks in advance.

yes it will change over, if this 4door has abs it is a good chance you have the bigger brake setup (hence same as the integra) i currently have 94 EX-ABS setup on my 00 HB, i checked with other tegs, they are the same size, and the use the same brake pads
here what i used:
-00 HB DX trailing arm(kept it) with 92 EX-ABS rear disc spindle
-front knuckles off of the 92 EX-ABS as well. complete change over.
-i used the existing cables as well off of the 92 EX-ABS, everything lined up
-00 ITR brake booster and master cylinder
you will need:
-you will need a 40/40 purportion(sp) vavle since you have a coupe

if he has a 93-95 ex coupe with abs then the brakes are the same size as a gsr front and rear. what you're gonna need to make it work at least is a proportioning valve from a 94-97 integra RS or 92-95 civic Si w/o abs that has 4 wheel disc brakes. then you should get a 15/16 or 1 master cylinder.

I heard that I need a 40/40 proportioning valve. BTW, does anybody know what these valves run new. Cause I probably won't find one anywhere around here. Unless I can use the one off the four door. Why do I need a new master cylinder. I know that's a newb question but I am kinda new when it comes to brake conversions.

The prop valve you use can be found on any 96-00 hatchback or 99-00 Si. You dont need a new master cylinder since the 94 EX uses larger rotors, but the caliper piston is the same as your coupe. The Integra calipers use a larger piston and will need a larger MC to have the same pedal feel.

ek and eg proportioning valves mount differently on the firewall. he has an eg chassis which means dc or eg proportioning valve for rear disc brakes.

Actually you don't need to change the prop valve. The difference if any between the drum and rear disc prop valves is not enough to warrant spending $ on them. In fact Honda used the same valve for the CX/DX HB's and the Si on the 6g cars...
