hey guys, i just got my Mugen style lip from ebay today and it's not looking too pretty. if you're familiar with all of those pictures of people twisting them in knots because they are made out of ABS, well, that's pretty much how i got it, since it was packaged in a box about half the size of the damn thing.

anyway, i've included some pics of it...

if anyone has any suggestions about whether or not this thing is going to come back to it's normal shape, perhaps once i mount it on the car? or maybe if i heat it up or something? any ideas if any one has experienced anything like this, i'd greatly appreciate.

i guess this is the norm for **** on ebay, particularly a lip that costs $4.99 and $45 for shipping?

is there a better place to buy from?

i just think it would be fine if they didn't stick it in the box like that for a week...

i'm going to leave some bad feedback for them that's for sure, but i think that's how they must always package it considering the box. i definitely don't think it got damaged during shipping. i didn't have insurance on it anyway. it just had both ends folded in as it was stuffed in the box.

i think i'm going to try and heat it up...

If u leave em bad feedback without talking to them first, they'll never take care of it. Talk to the dealer before u leave bad feedback.

i gave it a little heat with the blow dryer where it was creased the most and it seems like it might be straightening out a little, even though i couldn't see anything unfolding before my eyes. i'm going to go and try and see if it'll fit on my car. i'm going to put it on tomorrow, maybe it'll form fit once it's bolted on and sits in the heat for a few hours/days.

post some pics of it mounted and yeah i know what your saying i bought mine the same way you did and they sent it to me the same way as well. but in other words when its mounted you wont even see it bent. mine was bent in 2 spots and that was that but it shouldnt be serious since its flexable plastic.. besides its the look that counts not how you got it... wont know until you install it. my friend has one from ebay as well got it the same way i did and his worked out fine.

cool, cool. won't be able to install till tomorrow. i'm a bit of a newb though, so i have some newb questions because i'm not even exactly sure how this thing goes on. all i got were 4 screws, and i've seen other packages and DYI's where they used clips and double-sided tape and such.

can anyone give me some guidelines? i'm not even sure where the top part of the middle section is supposed to go. does it just overlay on the bottom part of my bumper? would i use double sided tape there to hold it down? or is this somehow supposed to bolt to the bottom? like i said, newb...

If you let it sit in the sun before installing it, it should loosen up and fit on easier. If there are still some problem areas when it's on, you can either warm it with a heat gun and try to fit it better, or just wait, eventually it should work it's way straight again.

honestly if you read the whole page when you buy the lip it says that they will bend the lip in half and fit it in a smaller box to save money and if you want them to put it in a proper size box its extra $$$$

but yeah on the bent parts put it against a flat surface and hit it with a hair dryer or some people say leave it out in the sun for a while and ittl go back to norm!! not shure about the second one but heat hun!!! =]

let the lip sit in the sun for a few hours...IT WILL STRAIGHTEN OUT. trust me. all those lips are like this. if you're lazy then grab the hairdryer or heatgun again.

Leave it inside a car and leave the windows closed...It will straighten right up!
