96 ek hb with a gsr swap no codes at all with a p72 obd2 all stock will not go pass 60000rpms I tride my friends p28 chip with a jumper harnes and it will not go pass 5500rpms that's. Wen his vtec injages please help

how long ago did you do the swap? has it alwasy been like this?? could it possibly be you throttle cable???

Good question. If you're trying to use a Civic throttle cable on a gsr, it's not long enough to fully open the throttle body.

It was all ways like this and some one did the swap not me but I will chek that. Can it be the vteck solinoid

Wen it gets to 6000rpms it starts back fire that's all it does I check the cable and its good it will open all the way

Check your wiring and also check to see if your obd system is functioning correctly. Does the check engine light come on briefly before you start the vehicle? It could also be a funky corrosion/connection issue with your dizzy.

That's what I was thinking. Like it's maybe defaulting and cutting fuel. Or it's really out of time.

Do yourself a favor and see if your vtec solenoid screen doesn't have rtv or sealant junk in it

It could be out of time. It would stumble earlier though I would think. I've got money on the easiest fix. It's something stupid, gauranteed!

Yes. 90% of the time things like this are as easy as scewing the gas
cap back on until you hear three clicks or even checking to make sure your oil is at the right level. Without enough oil, the oil pressure light would flicker and disengage vtec everytime with a sputter and a loss in rpm's. I hope that's not the case though because you'd be out some money for a bottom end :/

It just to have the check in engine ligth. But I went to the autopar and scand it it was a o2 sensore and mis fire but I fixt it. And still dos the same whit no check ingine light

Did you try what I said yet? Take te vtec solenoid off and check the mesh screen.

I clean the vtec and its the same it runs good till it hits 6000rpms. It starts back fire

could be ur cluster too.. my buddy had an ls swap civic and it wouldnt go past 5600 rpms and so he switched out the cluster and that was the problem. now he can go all the way to redline no prob..

lies...I have a 99 civic hatch with a gsr and the throttle cable was way longer and it worked perfectly until I went with an LS throttle cable.

Remove your wire harness and double check every connection.
