Default EK Civic VS Del Sol

Hi guys,

I'm currently looking for either a EK VTiR Hatch (DOHC VTEC), but am also considering a Del Sol (also DOHC VTEC). If i'm correct, both have the B16A in their DOHC VTEC versions?

Can anyone point out the differences between them? Aside from the obvious cosmetics (hatch vs coupe, 4 seat vs 2 seat)... How do they compare around the track? Straight line drag? Mod-a-bility? Which one would u rather and why?

The Civic is quite rare, and also a fair bit more expensive than the Del Sol. But it is a newer car (will have less milage, less wear).

Thanks!!

Finding a DOHC del sol will be harder than you think. They are more rare than most people think. Finding one with low miles and good shape is even harder. But they are out there. There are plenty of mods for the b16 model too. I personally think its a preference call. IMO

Actually, i've already found a DOHC Del Sol. I was VERY suprised when i popped the hood. But it was a nice suprise .
The Del Sol is in very nice condition, very clean. i pretty sure its been resprayed, but it looks great. The only thing is that its done 120,000km's already. Should i steer clear of it because of this? According to the guy, a 100,000km service has been done.

The VTiR Civic is about $3000AUD more than the del Sol, im yet to check it out. Both cars are stock.

Thanks for the replies so far.

All del Sols came with a targa top. So there is a good bit of body roll hitting turns. If you are going to want to AutoX it or anything to do with road courses then you'll need a roll bar. I personally don't like the EKs. I'd rather a EG any day. But I love my delly. Not only because how it looks but also because you really don't see that many where as you will see atleast 2 or 3 civics in 1 day. It is your decision though.

no not really wanting to go hardcore track racing... but my friend has an EK VTiR with HKS suspension... and that thing handles SO VERY WELL... i was wondering if the crx would be similar with typical aftermarket suspension mods?

Sorry, i don't like EG's . I love the EK shape tho, but have JUST started considering del sol's coz of their nice looks and uniqueness.
