Default ek b series shift linkage Q

so im swapping in a b16z2 into my ek and the linkage that came with it is bent into a "U" shape. so i bought a linkage out of a 98 itr. would it work fine? being it's from another b series? im only using the rod that is connected to the shift rod. the other rod with the shifter is fine. thanks in advance.
