Default ej8,ek,em1 headlight & component tuck guide

ok. this is a devoted ej8,ek,em1 guide to aid you in tucking your headlight & component DIY. the following is how i did it. by no meens is this the sole way of doing it.i take no responsibility of any problems you may encounter,or damages to your vehicle should you screw everything up. that said if you have a idea what time it is and are aquainted with honda you should have no problem. if you for example cant take your own engine out of the car this is not for you.THIS IS AT LEAST A 4-6 HR PROCESS SO ALOT THE PROPER TIME IF ITS A DD. you will need a basic set of tools.and i recomend a dremel or some type of cut-off tool. im new here and im not a good speller or typer.so deal.

first know what your looking at. throughout this ill be posting pics. this is a basic DIY. im not going to go into great detail over it and you should be able to figrue it out from the pics.UNPLUG YOUR BATTERY. the harness comes out of your firewall on both the driver and pass/ side. once it gets to about the middle of the strut tower there will be 2 clips on each side. 2 on driver tower and 2 on pass side/. UNPLUG THEM.OK THE SCARRY PART. take the 10mm's out of the fusebox.take the bottom off of it carefully using a flathead.then unplug all 4 clips inside it.

REMOVE THE BATTERY AND TRAY.go to the pass side and i took the seat out for added room. this will help bigger dudes out alot. next remove the glovebox. begin to remove the blower motor. i had no a/c anyway so i took that on out as well. NOTE THE BLOWER MOTOR IS TO THE FARTHEST right SIDE UNDER THE DASH. TO THE left OF IT IS THE A/C OR IF ITS A DX JUST A DUMMY VENT TO ALLOW FOR AIR FLOW FROM THE BLOWER. dont mind the millspec comming through the a/c port. you will not have that. ON THE FIRE WALL LOOK AT THE RUBBER GROMMETS GO TO THE FURTEST AND HIGHEST RIGHT RUBBER GROMMET.THIS IS THE HARNESS WITH THE CLIPS YOU UNPLUGGED. MAKE SURE THAT NOTHING IS HOLDING IT DOWN AND PULL IT THROUGH THE WALL.DONT MIND THE RED WIRES AS ONE IS THE POWER FROM THE BATTERY IN THE TRUNK AND ONE IS THE STARTER, ONE IS A QUICK CONNECT FOR JUMPING FROM THE FRONT.IF THERE UIS INTREST ILL DO A DIY ON THAT LATER.

AT THIS POINT YOU MIND AS WELL TAKE THE FENDER OFF THE CAR CAUSE ITS GOTTA COME OFF ANYWAY. SAME ON THE DRIVER SIDE.

FOLLOW THE HARNESS UNCLIPING AND UNPLUGGING EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH. THE WHOLE TIMG GOTTA COME OUT FOR INSPECTION ANYWAY.SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HAVE TO BE UNPLUGGED IN ORDER FROM THE PASS/SIDE IS./// LOTS OF PLASTIC CLIPS,A 10MM GROUND WIRE,THE HEADLIGHTS,THE BLINKER BULB,THE RAD FAN,THE HORN,A/C ISH,THE HEADLIGHTS AGAIN,A 10MM GROUND,BLINKER,P/S ISH,THE 2 STRUT TOWER CLIPS I TOLD YOU TO UNPLUG ALREADY AND THE BRAKE MASTER CYL. BASICLY FREE UP ANYTHING HOLDING IT TO THE CAR. IT WILL COME OUT AS 1 PIECE./////////////////////the bottom pic this is the outer chasiss. the ground is on the oppoiste side when stock/normal.use the same point when re-routing//////scrape it down so it makes a good ground as its painted on the outside.

PICS OF IT COMMIN OUT. KEEP IN MIND THAT I HAD NO P/S-NO A/C. AND I CUT THE CLIPS COMPLETELY OFF THE HARNESS AS ILL NEVER HAVE THAT STUFF AND LESS CLUTTERY PLUGS THE BETTER. IF YOU DONT HAVE A/C OR P/S NOTHING WILL HAVE TO BE ELONGATED. NO ADDED WIRE AND NO CUTTING NESSISSARY.DONT CUT UP UR HARNESS!!!!!it helps to remove the bracket for the rad so you can move it around. also loosen your headlights.

AT THISS POINT YOU SHOULD HAVE THE SECONDARY HARNESS OUT AND LOOSE. CHECK IT FOR WEAR/BRAKES ECT.BEFORE IT WAS ON THE INSIDE.NOW ITS GONNA BE MORE EXPOSED SO I WOULD REWRAP IT COMPLETELY IN E TAPE.the driver side is a lil worse than the pass. so be ready.might help to take that seat out as well.dont forget to unplug everything

ONCE ITS RETAPED, GO TO DRIVERS SIDE AND START TO REMOVER THE CRUISE CONTROL BOX. ITS KINDA LIKE WHERE THE STOCK ECU WOULD BE BUT ON DRIVER/SIDE. 3 10MM BOLTS HOLD IT IN. I HAVE NO CRUISE CONTROL SO THE BOX ISNT GOING BACK IN. BASICLY ITS A 5" X 5" SILVER BOX & BRACKET HAS THE 3 10MM'S. ONCE ITS OUT THERES ONLY 1 RUBBER GROMMET IN THE UPPER LEFT CORNER. PULL IT THROUGH TAKING CARE

NOW ALL 4 PLUGS YOU UNATTACHED ARE IN THE CAR. GREAT. YAHHH NOW WE REROUTE THE HARNESS ON THE EXTERIOR OF THE CAR. ITS BASICLY THE SAME PATH BUT NOW YOU CANT SEE IT. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE.YOU CAN STILL DIAGNOSE ONCE WE ARE DONE. IF YOU DO A GOOD JOB TAPING ITS A GO.///////////////CIGARETTE BREAK. PLEASE DONT COMMENT TILL IM DONE.THANKS/////////if you really want to hook it up lovely then strip all the loom off. buy some nylon wire loom(you can buy the same stuff chasebays an rywire use off ebay ) re wrap an custom heat shrink the harness an reinstall. def. worth it.

OK GO TO THE PASSENGER SIDE.WE ARE GONNA START THE REROUTING,GET ALL UP IN THE PASS SIDE FLOOR. LOCATE THE SPOT WHERE THE WIRING FOR THE DOOR IS.THE CLIPS THAT YOU PULLED INTO THE CAR PUSH BOTH THROUGH THE CHASSIS HOLE WHERE THE DOOR WIRING IS.THEY SHOULD LOOK LIKE THIS///////YOUR GONNA RUN THE SECOMDARY HARNESS THROUGH THE ACTUAL CHASSIS BUT YOU WILL NEED TO CUT A HOLE.DONT GET CRAZY HERE PAY ATTENTION.

THIS PIC IS JUMPING THE GUN A LIL BUT SHOWS THE RIGHT LOCATION FOR THE HOLE YOUR GONNA DREMEL IN.TAKE A PLUG AND PRESS IT TO WHERE THERE WILL BE A CLEAN FLOW OUT AND DRAW A OUTLINE AROUND THE PLUG SO YOU KNOW WHERE TO CUT.ONCE FINISHED BE SURE TO ROUND OFF ANY SHARP EDGES..BASICLY CUT THE HOLE AND FISH THE SECONDARY HARNESS THROUGH THE CHASSIS AND COME OUT THE HOLE AND CONNECT THE PLUGGS.THEN PULL IT BACK OUT TWARDS THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE PLUGGS WILL AT THIS POINT BE INSIDE THE CHASSIS.YOU SHOULD GET THE IDEA JUST BY THESE 2 PICS.

SINCE A EXTRA CLUMP OF WIRES ARE COMMING FROM THE DOOR GRAB SOME SNIPS AND SOME SILICONE.CLEAR IF YOU GOT IT.WITH THE SNIPS IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER TRIM THE RUBBER GROMMET,REMOVING MATERIAL TO ALLOW ROOM FOR THE NEW WIRES.SNIP UNTILL THE GROMMET SITS BACK FLUSH IN THE CHASSIS AND ADD SOME SILICONE TO STOP ANY WATER FROM COMMING IN IF DONE PROPERLY THERE IS HARDLY ANY GAP

OK NOW PLAN OUT THE ROUTING AND BEGIN REHOOKING EVERYTHING,WORKING TWARDS THE DRIVERSIDE. AFTER YOU HOOK UP THE HEADLIGHTS RUN THE WIREING UNDER THE HEADLIGHTS AND WORK IT SO YOU END UP IN FRONT OF THE RAD,THE HORN MAY BE A LITTLE TIGHT BUT GENTLY PULL AN CHECK YOUR ROUTING FOR THE MOST DIRECT ROUTE.

OK NOW YOUR MAKING GREAT PROGRESS.HAVE A CIGARETTE. THEN HOOK UP THE WASHER SYSTEM,THE HEADLIGHTS AN GROUND,WHATEVER ELESE IS OVER THERE.AND WE ARE GONNA HAVE TO CUT ANOTHER HOLE JUST LIKE THE LAST ONE WE DID.

MAKE YOUR CUT AND FISH THE HARNESS IN. //////////////IMPORTANT INSIDE THE DRIVER SIDE.THE PART THAT YOU PULLED INSIDE THE CAR WITH THE 2 CLIPS ON IT. REMOVE ALL THE TAPE AND ALL THE LOOM.FROM THE FACTORY ITS ALL BUNCHED UP.ONCE YOU REMOVE THE TAPE AND LOOM YOU WILL SEE THAT CERTAIN PLUGGS START GOING THEIR OWN DIRECTION.DOING THIS IS NESSISARY FOR IT TO REACH. ONCE EVERYTHING IS UNDONE STREATCH IT OUT AND RETAPE AS SO THE 2 PLUGS ARE BY THEMSELVES WITH THEIR OWN WIRING.PUSH THEM THROUGH THE DOOR GROMMET AND CUT AWAY ENOUGH MATERIAL TO INSTALL THEM INTO THE CHASSIS. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PIC THE CIRCLE ON THE SIDEWALL WILL HAVE TO BE CUT INTO A SQUARE SO YOU CAN FIT YOUR FINGERS INSIDE TO CONNECT THE 2 PLUGS. UNFORTUNATLY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO CONNECT THESE 2 INSIDE THE CHASSIS SO CUTTING THE CIRCLE INTO A SQUARE IS IMPORTANT

OK SO NOW CUT THE DOOR GROMMET AND SILICONE THAT SIDE AS WELL,GO BACK AND CHECK YOUR WORK AND CONNECTIONS,BECAUSE YOU UNTAPPED THE DRIVER SIDE HARNESS WHEN IT WAS INSIDE THE FIRE WALL YOU SHOULD HAVE FREED UP OTHER PLUGGS.I DIDNT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE STRUT TOWER PLUG FOR THE PIGTAIL BECAUSE I HAVE A MILLSPEC CHASEBAYS HARNESS THAT REQUIRES THE PIGTAIL TO BE INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

BANG AN UR DONE.AGAIN.ITS NOT HARD.IN FACT I HAD A GOOD TIME DOING IT. BUT IF YOU HAVE NEVER DONE THINGS LIKE THIS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT BOTHER. IF YOU CANT RE-ALIGHN THE BODY PANELS YOURSELF YOUR CARS GONNA LOOK BAD,AND YOU RUN THE RISK OF HAVING NO HEADLIGHTS OR COMPOMENTS. SET ASIDE ENOUGH TIME. MY SITUATION MAY VARY FROM SOME PEOPLE BECAUSE I HAVE NO A/C,NO POWER STEERING,NO CRUSE CONTROL.AND I USE A MILLSPEC HARNESS.THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE A GUIDE AND I TOOK THE TIME TO DO THIS FOR OTHER PEOPLES BENNEFIT. IM AWARE THAT ITS TYPED POORLY AND THAT THINGS ARE SPELLED INCORRECTLY. SAVE THE NEGATIVE ISH FOR SOMEBODY THAT CARES.I HOPE THIS HELPS SOME PEOPLE AS THERE WAS NO PRIOR GUIDE FOR DOING THIS.

thanks.but idk. i thought this would help some people out but thought id get a better reaction.it seems in here people are more into hey check out this kewl stuffed animal ive got hangin from my tow hook,er wow i painted my calipers an installed these neon lights under my car threads get more reaction than my actual pertnant info. im sure theres some real heads in here but mostly its roofrack fanboys, fake *** know it alls,posers,& haters with some e-thugs mixed in. 500 views an 1 positive comment? im done wastin my time in here.ive gotta go get some neon lights an a bomex kit.lol g/l HT

sweet lil write up man! I appreciate this. I was just getting ready to start this same process this coming weekend. I think during the process I might go ahead and ditch the A/C as well.
