EG still idels crazy with ITR intake manifold!
My brother just installed a ITR intake manifold on a jdm b16 and it still idles crazy from 900-1500 rpms. Two weeks ago he installed 2.5 inch piping with a DC 2.5 header and carsound cat. Now the cat is shot with something rattling inside it. The muffler shop said it's not safe to drive with the cat like that b/c the engine isn't running properly. And that it would be impossible to tune with that cat. He said it'll damage the motor. Anyone believe that? What you guys think is the problem, we tried the IACV and checked all lines.

if it is erratic then it cannot be a vacuum leak.

the throttle cable bracket, check out this link. i think the b16 bracket angles differetnly and that will cause tension on the cable.

What IACV did u use? When I did my swap I couldnt use my b16 one , 1 hole didnt match. I had to use a SOHC IACV. Also make sure u put in that figure 8 lil rubber gasket that does in the IACV, if u dont have that , it will have a vaccum leak.
Also, what tb gasket did u use? Better yet, just spray carb cleaner all around the tb and mani, that will check for any leaks.
BTW- your tb cable has nothing to do with your revs going up and down.

We used a 98 civic EX IACV too, still acted funny. I don't think there was a figure 8 rubber gasket. What year was your sohc iacv eg_nezay? By the way which hole didnt match? All holes seem to match here.
We'll try to mess with it tomorrow. Thanks for the info
