Default EG Mini Me Question

I have 95 D15B7 block and planning on adding a 99 D16y8 head. When I do this, instead of using the summit racing activated switch like I did last time could I just get a P28 and use a VAFC to control my vtec. Would that work, and if so what all would really be needed to be done if there is anything else to it besides that. Thanks for any info

its obd-2 head on a obd1 car. You will need to modify the distributor to obd-1 (search). And use your obd-1 injectors for ease of splicing your harness. Other than that, you can use the p28 ecu. That is what you are "supposed" to use. Everything else should work, as it sounds like youve done a mini me in the past. Oh yeah. Get a si/ex tranny.

Yeah Ive done a D16z6 head on a D15b7 before, but I found a good deal on the y8 head and went ahead and picked it up. so since they are different (obd1 - 2) I was wondering what would I have to do. So basically modify the dist. Would that be and obd2 dist. I would have to modify to fit my harness. And then I could wire it up to the p28 ecu. right?

i did a y8 head on a b7 block about a year ago.as far as the distributor dont bother trying to use an obd2 on your obd1 system pita.your b7 dizzy should bolt right up and therefore plug right in.if you want to use the p28 youll need to run wires in to the ecu for the vtec oil press. sensor and the vtec solenoid.i cant think of any other issues at the moment.

cool. Yeah Ill check that dist. see if Im gonna have any probs with it not fiting or bolting up properly. I already know how to wire it up to a p28. So other than that I shouldnt have any probs. If anyone knows anything else please let me know before I start this which will prob be next week.
