EG hatch worth saving?
I recently came across a 92 civic hatch in a junkyard its 5speed and its a cx it has no motor (i think i found the blown 8 valve on the ground) and the cx trans on the seat. Its very straight its missin a hood and some interior peices. The suspension is inside the car but its there. And it has a busted out qauarter window. And I have a D15b VTEC in my shed not being used so that was my idea what do you guys think is it worth saving and if so what is it worth.

like i said b4 if its rusting dont because even if you weld a patch over the rust the spots that you heat up to weld makes the metal weaker. its only a band-aid, sooner or later the cancer will start to show itself

yeah, it is in the end your choice on what to do. its alot easier for someone to say "yeah go for the save" than saving the car. sounds like it could be a fun thing to do tho

Only buy it if YOU think its worth it. I paid $600 for a 93 si hatch shell last year mostly stripped, brakelines and all...not a single dent on the body though, i know i paid to much but the end product is going to be well worth it

I got my new '92 EH2 project car for $250 with no engine and no rust (VERY rare for around here).
For me it was worth buying because I can transfer over all the missing parts (engine/trans, wiring, interior etc etc) from my retired EH2.
Figure out exactly what you'll need to do to get the thing road worthy, figure in a few surprises, and decide if it's worth your time.
That's how I decided anyway.../.02

If the body is straight, I'd jump on it. Hatches are rare around here, at least unmodified ones. I'm guessing you'd drop a better engine, aftermarket suspension and stuff in anyway...

does consume time a bit but you just gota stick to it, no dinkin around and straight work.... i pulled my b18 engine and slap a head on my b16a block, throw a clutch flywheel and trans on it then switch all the parts from the b18 to b16 and droped it in for one days work. i def. think this hatch could be saved, possibly in a week depending if your workin overtime on your regular job... pick that **** up asap and get it back to life, i see way to many junker hondas rollin around and not enough people showin love.. give this hatch all you got thats my word
even if you end up spendin 3k on it the money will come back to you if it turns out good so its worth it.... could prob. buy a used k20 and fix the body up nicely for 3k.

Tell them you don't need the tile you are building a race car you just need the shell. then you need a cheep rusted out doner car and swap the dash and vins out.

Re: (travis-b16a2-eg)
Id get it I would probally only pay like $200-$250 for it though. Im working on getting my eg for $500 and it just needs the bumper and the headlight. But depending on price I say yo pick it up, and if you do make a build thread .
