Re: EG Hatch window rattle.. (nuggets)
You mean the partly rolled down, going over bumps and clack clack clack over and over?
I've replaced the molding, the glass and had a professional make sure everything was tight and its still the same.
sometimes u can find a spot where it dosent rattle, but other then that all the way up or down is what I've been doing to compensate.
BUMP to find out if someone knows as well

the tires i have don't help at all either.. dunlop sp 5000 symetricals.. they have alot of road noise..

Re: (92ehatch)
yea on the driver side window i get that aswell.. i just replaced the window regulator last year too... but..
we're talking about the REAR HATCH WINDOW..
i replaced the struts... thinking it would help... and tightened the clamp making it close tighter to the car...
it still rattles on the sides of the glass.. its so ANNOYING

do you have the stock wing ??? i might make a suggestion it may not be the hatchglass but the small piece of plastic that covers that access to the hatch brake light, i know mine buzzes like crazy when i drive. maybe give it a shot

it is most likly the latch that attaches to the lock mechanism on the hatch window glass that looks like a U in the middle of the window rattling inside of the mechanism when it is closed.
what you need to do to fix this is take some electrical tape, warp it around the U a few times so its fairly thick so that the vibrations wont break through the tape,
after you wrap the U close the hatch and makesure there is no binding if it binds then you have put on too much tape,
wola no more window vibrations.

Re: EG Hatch window rattle.. (DTS)
well you can do that.. or you can adjust the u clamp itself to pull the window tighter.. i did this thinking it would help but.. not so much.
i dunno.. im thinking about trying the thicker weather stripping.. that sounds like a good idea

I have experienced this myself and this is one thing that does add to the noise.

The tape will help because it acts as a padding so the rattle of the latch cannot be heard. I have mine set tight as well but there is somthing inside that dosent latch but is close enough to the "U" to buzz/rattle. TAPE

Re: EG Hatch window rattle.. (De_tour)
REALLY
well.. I have no reason NOT to give the ol' tape job a shot then.
I'll try it today and let everyone know when I get results.
now that i think about it.. i guess if you REALLY wanted it done right you would have to replace the mechanism inside the actual hatch....
but i bet that's rather expansive.. so i'll try the tape for now

there is a "U" shaped bar attached to the glass of the rear hatchback window...
it is what hooks into the locking mechanism inside the trunk door of the hatchback.
Tape this.. and supposedly all problems are solved.
I'm going outside to do it right meow.
