::EG hatch project choices??:: what should i do??
well im stuck... there are some small things i need to buy but thats no big deal, for now these are my choices. i have about 200.00 to spend.
1)get new brembo blanks and axxis pads for the front?
2)get a rear disc conversion?? i plan on autoXing alot!
3) save for a CF hood? my stock hood was backed into by a bus!
4) header? i have a stock b16a header on now which doesn't bother me.
all opinions are appreciated! thanxx

Don't DXs have shitty brakes, I mean small rotors? Why don't you just upgrade to bigger rotors, with EX/GSR conversion.

rear discs aren't needed for autocross.
new blanks and pads up front will be a better upgrade

John G is still running DX brakes all around...different pads obviously., but still has rear drums. Walks most guys on the track too...even with the D15B7

My friend on his CX (I think the brakes are the same as DX) jdm d15b and some LS rims, has problems stopping with his brakes. I mean serious stopping problems, they fade and just go away (now they are getting replaced with SIR II brakes). My other friend with CX, crossdrilled rotors and some good brake pads, little better but I think once he would get rid of those 13s he would have some serious problems too. I would just suggest get good stopping power so you don't end up slamming the **** out of his carbon fiber hood. Brake fade sucks, I experieced it plenty of times, almost killed me twice.

yeah dont muck with the rear brakes...
As Emerika stated some blanks and good pads is all you need...well and maybe some stainless steel lines.
My Bknw hood skeleton has "sagged" away from the c/f top and rubs on my valve cover. I think you would be ok with a d series engine anything else and your rolling the dice with those guys.

2 waste of money....just get good front pads....save your money.....

4 get JDM ITR 2.5 collector header.....will be best bet....

Re: ::EG hatch project choices??:: what should i do?? (chad)
If you're upgrading the brakes for autocross, fluid would probably be more important than the rotors [unless your old ones are stuffed]. I've got a big write-up on it somewhere. Bigger brakes are always nice, but as someone said your stock ones with good pands (and fluid) will be fine for now. Only upgrade them if theyre not working well enough, fix whats already wrong with your car, ie the hood.

When doing any mods to your car for autoXing, make sure you read any rules for SCCA and autoXing. some mods will put you in a class you my not want to be in, so read up before you do mmmmkay. just a suggestion

Re: ::EG hatch project choices??:: what should i do?? (spock_rocker)
**** the hood.
Get NAPA or Autozone blanks and Axxis Ultimate pads. Brembo rotors aren't going to do anything special. However, the lifetime warranty ones are easily returned when you start heat/stress cracking them. New fluid too. Vavoline Synthetic from the auto store or get some ATE Super Blue.
I'd say get GT-Sports but they're out of stock until the 17th or so.
