eg hatch b16a - Input needed on my build project
hi..
i hv some question about b16a on eg hatch.
current set up now is:
- stock motor b16a
- porting polish head
- 3 angle valve job
- 4-2-1 header
- cold air intake
- obd1 ecu with spoon map chip
this set up get best time 10,02 sec on 201m.
with all door and hood fiber and bad syncromesh on 3 gear.
my plan now is to add some mod:
- using complete dc2 gearbox witch hv 4,7 final
- using all cam shaft, spring, from b18 type r head to my current head (how about clearence?? will hit the p30 piston or not??)
how about my plan??
can i get better time on 201m or will it make it worse??
and what different between b16b type r cam with b18c type r cam (which 1 better for my set up)??
last can i use b16 type r piston?? (i scared about compression will bump much coz in my country there is no better fuel)
ok thx all...
sorry if my english bad.

Honestly If possible I would ditch the b16 all toghter.
Take the type r head and bolt it on to some sort of b18/b20 block.
You can run a CTR piston, however If I am not mistaken the P30 will give you higher compression. As long as you can get a good tune, and run 93 octane Fuel I see no issues.
