EG CX VSS?
Gentlemen,
I suspect my VSS needs replacement. I already took it out, cleaned it and reinstalled it and the speedometer is still "crazy".
What are the VSS part #s compatible with my EG CX Hatch (stock 8v D15)?
Also, where do you recommend me to buy it from besides local junkyards? I am working a lot lately and I rather buy it online. Any good place with good prices? Any online-junkyard you guys know of?
Thanks!
-Walter

I beleve any d-series vss will work... I used and cx vss for an si tranny as long as it isn't one off of a cable tranny to hydro or vise verus!

Hondapartscheap.com. I get my stuff there and it's about 28% off list. You can look at schematics and get a brand new part. I'm thinking about $50 for you VSS.

Gentlemen,
I got the part in the mail and installed it yesterday. Same exact problem. Any advice? Do contacts behind the instrumentation cluster ever get dirty?

Have you check for continuity along the circuit that carries the VSS signal? Just a thought. If the wiring is good and the VSS is good, then perhaps your gauge cluster.

Thanks for the reply RIZOBIZERT. I haven't checked for continuity, need to get my voltmeter back for that... I think something's going on within the cluster.
Thanks again,

i dont kno if its just me but, all the eg civics i've owned, its the cluster and all the ej's, its the vss. when it acts up, smack the dash right above the cluster. usually brings 'em back to life for a second or 2 if its the cluster.
