► EG B20 swap: non-typical questions
I have done a bunch of searching and I will continue to search, so please don't tell me to. I started this thread because I am unsure/not confident about some of the info I have found. Some questions I have not found answers for.
The B16A in my '92 EH2 is tired and I am planning on swapping in a B20.
So far, I have found I will need the following if I buy just the B20 block and head:
● OBD1 P75 ECU
● OBD1 B18B distributor
● OBD1 B18B intake manifold assembly - complete, right down to the injectors, fuel rail, sensors etc.
● L or T (whatever you wan to call it) bracket from a '94-'01 Integra or a Del Sol VTEC (or my old B16A).
● B-series axles and intermediate (half) shaft. I plan on using the ones from my B16A.
● B-series transmission. I plan on using the Y21 LSD from my B16A.
Can anyone think of anything I am missing?
Here are my questions that I am having a tough time finding answers for.
1. Does the P75 run the B20B/Z perfectly or just "good enough". This bothers me the most. I don't want it to run lean or rich, or run like hell.
2. I am using the Apexi WS exhaust system for my B16A, will it work with the B20?
3. Will there be any compatability issues installing the B18B intake manifold onto the B20B/Z?
4. In my case, does it make more sense to get a B20B or a B20Z?
Thanks in advance for any replies. I am hoping someone who has done this before will throw in their .02¢

Re: ► EG B20 swap: non-typical questions
Many of your questions are answered in my B18 swap thread in my Signature, but for your specific 4 questions at the end:
The B18B and B20B motors are in nearly all regards 'the same' aside from their displacement (as in the heads are nearly identical to my understanding) so yes, it will run a B20 'just fine' HOWEVER for it to run 'perfectly' (as in to take full advantage of the displacement bump over the B18) you will need to get it chipped/tuned.
Your exhaust may or may not 'bolt right up', I had purchased some 'custom' EJ exhaust for my B18B1 powered EJ coupe, but it ended up being too long because the EJ it was in prior had a GSR swap, so I'm afraid I really don't have a good answer for you there aside from warning you that it could very easily work or not.
There are no issues installing a B18 manifold on a B20 head, they share bolt patterns.
B20Z's are rated at 146hp opposed to 126hp of the B20B's to my understanding, however one has an intake manifold that WILL work in a civic IIRC, while the other has the 'waterfall' intake that will not clear the hood. In all honesty though I'd just pickup whichever you find cheapest/first/most readily available.
