well if the 92 is in good condition i would go with that, but that is prolly a biased decision because i love the 92-95 civics.

if you dont have alot of money to spend and want a fast car i say ef if you if you want luxury and a little more money to spend i say eg. I own all and thats just how i feel about the subject. efs are easy to make fast. You always run a little faster that the other guy in a ef...unless its ef. I like all cars from 88-95 after that you wouldnt see me in any car except a s2000.

DAMN IT. test drove that eg today and it was crap. man going into first the whole car hummed. then there was a grinding noise like the brakes were being dragged. then i checked the engine, and oh boy zip ties everywhere man. i even saw one of the motor mounts zip tied and the radiator zip tied. intake? not even any piping. i guess ill have to keep searching/...... it looked nice though. thanks for the advice though guys

good job by not taking it buying a car you need to constantly fix in the future is one of the worst things you can do.

More oppurtunities will arise, if the hatch was junk, keep the CRX for now. I just bought me an 89 CRX and I love it

Oh yea, Dont 92+ civic CX's and civic DX's have the same motor? D15B7 or the D16Y9?

*EDIT* D16Y7, not the D16Y8

You shoulda taken it.

Brakes 50 bucks or do a rear disk swap.
Even a z6 or any other d series could replace that junk in the engine bay (I have a CX and VX, had a DX) for a couple hundred.

There wasn't even that much body work. Even if you decided you didn't want it, you coulda thrown it up on here or ebay and gotten at least 1500-2k for it. If you did the z6 or mini-me or something to the engine and the rear disc swap you coulda had like 3k. I dunno I woulda taken it real fast. But I also love EG hatches.

Damn I think I would of taken the that hatch anyways even with the CX motor(b8). It's just the head that is shitty. I have a cx shortblock in my hatch with a a6 head and let me tell you it was a night and day difference. From the pics it doesn't look so bad besides the miscolored tailgate. Eh no biggie in my book. I guess I just like working on 92-95 civic better than the older 88-91 just from my experience with more room in the engine bay and it's just a newer car.

yeah I would too, you have a lot less prob. with parts, cuz all most anything drops right in there, it comes down to it, the eg6 looks way better then the ef . any timeof the day. lol EG6

i just did this swap! i traded my ef shell, both trannys (ls and b16) and the mounts for a running cx!

I love EF's and will get another one but it was time to move on. Its up to you, both seem like good cars. I dont see as many EF's stolen as much as i see other cars, so there is one thing i could think of.

Parts for the eg are more readily available and there is my pro for the eg!!

Cons EF: Parts are getting harder to find!
Cons Eg: everyone has one, theives and .... damn its hard to find a problem with any honda!

good luck and just take everyones opinion and come up with your own
