Edelbrock d-series manifold finally coming out
anybody take a look at this yet? supposedly coming out in 03 and im hoping they come through before the summer. anyone know the length of the stock runners? these look flatter (like they dont curve up). im guessing since its made for the y8 it'll fit the z6 too. dont know why they're only marketing it for 96-00 d-series tho. can't wait to see what kinda power they make on a boosted sohc

They are including a manifold in their turbo kit. Claiming 170whp at 6-7 psi on a d16y8 if that gives you any idea of what it does on a boosted sohc Their setup has a ball-bearing T28.

Re: Edelbrock d-series manifold finally coming out (kommon_sense)
yea i have read up on the specs in another post, but i plan to buy the manifold seperately and see what gains i get on a z6 with a td04-15g at 6-7psi. turbo is only like 1 yr old so i dont plan to get rid of it anytime soon and spend money on an all new kit. i'd love to see how this manifold looks and fits under the hood

Re: Edelbrock d-series manifold finally coming out (Marauder)
ok, so update the fuel rail. that could be done. now for the sensor, what do most people do, extend it? or just bypass it somehow? i'll have to guess (and hope) that the injector ports are the same size as z6s? the only difference i can think of there are the injector clips. but as long as the holes are the same size and will hold my rc 310s in place i dont care.
on another note, why doesn't edelbrock release a manifold for the z6? we've been waiting forever damnit!!!!! weird how greddy catered to the z6 and made y8 guys adapt and edelbrock is gonna end up doing the opposite. guess they think its good business practice to get their own corner of the market. wonder when those skunk2 manifolds come out....

ewww its got the ugly later model y8 style flange that sits taller, prohibiting installation on 88-95 non vtec heads .

probably more like 3-4 hp for most people, especially considering that we are talking about a 1.6L. However if you have some work done, or even better, boosted, I would expect to see some respectable gains.

Re: Edelbrock d-series manifold finally coming out (Pengo)
My guess would be there will be a Z6 version of the manifold. Looks like this manifold was made to go along with the turbo kit.....Doesn't look like much to change the casting for the Z6. As far as I know, the same injector hole is the same for the Z6 as the Y8, the top seal is shorter on the Y8, but can still be used the same.
Price....who knows....couldn't be any more than the B18 ones, and hopefully will be cheaper. Just have to wait until they become available!

MSRP on the turbo is around 3500+
3500 with a ball bearing turbo full kit
3500 with a ball bearing turbo full kit
best price for everything possible
