Default ECU reset

Does anyone know why people reset their ECU's after a mod? Also in a 99' ex, what fuse is the ecu fuse?

Just pull the negative cable on the battery for 10 min and you should be alright.

You could just pull out the fuse thats in the fusebox in the engine bay. I believe its the radio back up fuse. There was an article awhile back that claims the computer will relearn with the new mods giving better performance.

You could just pull out the fuse thats in the fusebox in the engine bay. I believe its the radio back up fuse. There was an article awhile back that claims the computer will relearn with the new mods giving better performance.
is that true?

I think it was super street. They did that on a Subaru WRX. Not sure though.

here's what i read A LONG TIME AGO:

pull the ecu fuse along with the back up fuse, leave it out for 1min -2min, turn the ignition key to make sure to drain all of the electric current(easier to just unplug the ecu!!). plug back the fuses and start the car without stepping on the gas. leave it on for a good 1min. turn off the car. start it up again 30sec-1min and floor it/rev it.


that's what i read in honda-tuning or something like that a long time ago. seems to 'kinda' help.

yea what i heard was to pull the ecu fuse from under the hood, making sure you turn ignition to (2 clicks) then disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reinstall everyhting, and then start car and let it run for like 5 minutes idle!
