ECU PROBLEM (5 speed conversion)
Hey guys i did a 5 speed conversion on my 98 Civic EX.
when i leave the auto ECU my car runs fine but the engine light is on b ecause the car thinks the engine is broke because its not auto. When i put a 5 Speed ECU in the car my car will idle bumpy. And the car is not driveable because it wont run smooth. Can anyone help me? my car is past inspection and this is the only reason i need this fixed. Thanks!

Re: ECU PROBLEM (sh0rd87)
try the IACV , autos and manuals have different IACV's im fairly sure. i could be mistaken. your auto IACV should have 3 wires going to it , black/blue , orange , yellow/black(power). to do it properly , you should have a manual intake manifold on there to run a manual ecu. the A12 wire is black/blue wire for manual IACV. the 2 wires on the manual IACV are the one above , and yellow/black , which is power for the sensor. the black/blue wire is signal. could be other differences as well but thats one. i dont know if EGR valve is the same. or anything else that would make it run poopy. throw the manual ecu in and run it till the engine light comes on than get the codes.

auto=3 wire iacv
manual=2 wire iacv
i found this one ^ out the hard way
also you have to jump a wire near the shifter or something like that because of the ecu thinking it's in gear or something....do a search
